Fatimah Alyas is a B.A. Candidate at Columbia University. She is involved with the Columbia International Relations Council and Association, Columbia Women in Law and Politics, the Columbia University South Asian Feminism(s) Alliance, Students Organize for Syria, and multiple other groups on campus. Some of her interests include working on initiatives concerning social justice activism, conflict resolution, and international development. In particular, her passion for international affairs and regional studies brought her to the United Nations Headquarters, where she served as an Adviser with the Permanent Mission of Pakistan. Fatimah has also interned with the Office of Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, where she offered a youth perspective, worked on international protocol measures, and created an outreach database using research and marketing skills. Aside from keeping busy with international affairs, outreach work, and undergraduate life, Fatimah is a photographer, foodie, and history-enthusiast. She loves exploring exciting destinations, meeting new people, and learning from the world around her.
