Kiran Khalid is a veteran journalist with more than 15 years of newsroom experience. A graduate of the broadcast journalism program at the University of Texas, she has worked for local affiliates of every major network (CBS, NBC, FOX, and ABC) in television markets across the U.S. Her on-air debut in 1996 at the CBS affiliate in Corpus Christi, Texas made her the first Pakistani-American woman on broadcast news.
Shell International recruited Kiran Khalid in 2013 to lead its creative visual team as the Executive Producer of Shell films in the Americas. Prior to that, she worked as a New York-based producer for CNN. Her scope of reporting included exclusive stories about FBI informants in mosques, undocumented children facing deportation, and the impact of enhanced interrogation techniques on American soldiers. The American Immigration Lawyers Association presented her with its 2011 AILA Media Leadership Award in recognition of “the individual whose efforts in the media most accurately depict immigration and immigrants.”
