Sharmeen Akbani Gangat

Sharmeen Akbani Gangat is the Founder and CEO of The Glocul Group, a U.S. based business development consulting and training firm. Sharmeen offers more than 10+ years of experience of advising clients on marketing and business development projects in 37 countries. Ranging from Fortune 100s such as Google to international organizations such as the United Nations, Sharmeen has consulted on marketing and launch strategies of several products and programs across the world. As a mentor and coach, Sharmeen has trained thousands of executives and entrepreneurs, including alumni of Ivy League schools and partners at “Big 4s & AmLaw 100” firms, in marketing and rainmaking skills. Sharmeen has also taught and conducted personal branding, business development, networking, content development, and storytelling courses and workshops at several prestigious institutions: from New York University and Hunter College to University of Houston and Rice University. Sharmeen received her master’s degree from Columbia University and filmmaking education from New York University. Besides her work in the corporate sector, Sharmeen is also involved in several philanthropic initiatives, including as a Board of Director with Developments in Literacy’s Houston Chapter. In her past life, she wrote for several publications on issues related to human rights, politics, religion, and Pakistan.
