It is with great pride that we announce the American Pakistan Foundation Cultural Heritage Fund. Our mission has always been to uplift and give voice to our vibrant, diverse, and growing community. The Fund will be the first of its kind, exclusively dedicated to celebrating and showcasing Pakistani American heritage to all communities in the United States.

What the Fund Will Do

Beginning in 2021, the Fund will sponsor an annual symposium celebrating Pakistani American heritage, contributions, and accomplishments. Programs will include:

  • lectures by prominent expert on Pakistani American heritage and/or U.S.-Pakistan relations;

  • cultural heritage essay contest for Pakistani American youth;

  • grants for a Pakistani American artist exploring cultural heritage; and

  • APF Trailblazer Awards for leaders recognized for building bridges between the United States and Pakistan

How You Can Help

Preserving our culture and heritage for future generations to come requires constant learning, sharing, and dialogue.

If you believe like we do that this work is needed, please consider contributing.

100% of these donations will be used to support projects dedicated to Pakistani American heritage and accomplishments. Every dollar brings us closer to honoring our past, present, and future.

Riaz and Salma Siddiqi

Each year, APF will honor one or more individuals who exemplify our goal of preserving heritage and culture through dedicated work on community empowerment.

We are proud to name Riaz and Salma Siddiqi as the 2020 honorees of the APF Cultural Heritage Fund.

Riaz and Salma are community leaders and philanthropists whose values of public service, social justice, and economic uplift have empowered individuals and communities all over the world. Riaz and Salma have served their community in Houston, Texas with humility, compassion, and grace through the numerous charities and philanthropic endeavors they have supported through the years.

Through Salma's efforts to support literacy in Pakistan and provide social services to underserved communities in Houston, and Riaz's tireless journey to empower Pakistani American youth to realize their full potential in American life, they exemplify the charitable spirit and deep generosity of the Pakistani American community.

Riaz has served as Chair of the APF Board of Directors since 2013, and as a member of the board since APF's founding in 2009. We are especially proud to honor his and Salma's contributions this year, as he steps down as Chair on November 15th.
