DAS Massinga will discuss his professional background, the life of a Foreign Service Officer, and the experience of serving in the State Department as a member of a minority community. Speakers
Ervin Massinga is the State Department’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Pakistan Affairs within the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA). He previously served as Director of the Office of Pakistan Affairs within SCA. Mr. Massinga is a career Foreign Service Officer since 1995. Mr. Massinga is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (1990) and the University of Washington’s Graduate School of Public Affairs (1995).
Shamila N. Chaudhary was appointed President of the American Pakistan Foundation in August of 2019. Chaudhary is an international affairs analyst specializing in U.S. foreign policy with a focus on U.S.-Pakistan relations, Pakistan internal politics, and regional issues in South Asia. Prior to her tenure at the White House, she served on the U.S. Department of State’s Policy Planning Staff, where she advised Secretary Clinton and the late Ambassador Richard Holbrooke on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Chaudhary also served on the State Department’s Pakistan Desk from 2007-2009.
